Pilates training
I have been teaching Pilates training for 20 years. To this day, I remain enthusiastic about this training method, as do many of my clients. Discover this meaningful and effective training for yourself!
Pilates training builds strength, improves flexibility and coordination, trains functional movement patterns, teaches good posture, increases body awareness and promotes balance. The exercises also prevent injuries and shape the body.
Pilates is a holistic training method that strengthens the body as a whole, from the inside out. It promotes a strong core, consisting of the deep abdominal muscles and the muscles around the spine, including the pelvis, chest, shoulder girdle and neck. Well-trained core muscles can stabilise the spine and reduce the risk of back problems. Strong core muscles also mean you tire less quickly and can maintain good posture for longer.
Depending on the level of difficulty, the training can be very easy or very intense.
Pilates training on the mat and on the Reformer
Pilates mat training takes place on an exercise mat (with small props if necessary).
The Reformer (also called Allegro) is the most versatile Pilates training device. The Reformer has a carriage that slides on rails and is attached to the frame by springs. Cable pulls are also connected to the carriage via rollers. Unlike mat exercises, Reformer exercises can provide either additional resistance or support, making the exercises easier or more difficult, depending on your goals.
Pilates personal training takes place at Bäumleingasse. There I offer training on the mat, on the Reformer and on other Pilates equipment such as the Cadillac. If required, I also integrate TRX suspension training.
Pilates classes are held at various locations in Basel and Riehen.
Information about my public mat classes in Riehen can be found here. These take place every Tuesday.
Information about the public courses in Basel can be found here. I teach these Reformer classes at Intelligent Fitness on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and occasionally on Saturdays.
